About Festember

Festember is the annual international cultural festival of the National Institute of Technology, Trichy (formerly known as REC, Trichy). This year it took place in the premises of REC Campus from 22nd to 25th September 2016.

Festember has emerged over the years as the epitome of cultural excellence, catering to people of all age groups, pioneers from all fields and fanatics and enthusiasts of all types across the country. Being one among the top 10 cultural fests in India, it has a vibrant history of 42 years with an active participation of 15000+ students from over 400 colleges across India. Having been awarded the Best Cultural Event of the year by State Govt. of Tamil Nadu in 2005 and the Best youth run festival in two categories by Youth Inc. Magazine Festival Awards, Festember has been adding a new feather to its cap every year.

Festember has witnessed celebrities like Ilayaraja, Crazy Mohan, Sivamani, Rukmini Vijaykumar, Gautam Vasudev Menon, Pritam Chakraborty, Vishal-Shekhar, Salim Sulaiman, Suraj Jagan, Benny Dayal, violin maestros Ganesh and Kumaresh, Punya Srinivas, Guitar Prasanna, Karthik, KK, Euphoria, DJ Duo Alvar-Milas, Mother Jane, Avial, Javed Ali, Byju Dharmajan and Naresh Iyer.

Festember has grown exponentially with each edition, adding something new to its already surfeit bandwagon of events which includes the Festember Open Quiz, EDM night by SUNBURN, Guest Lecture series (Carpe Diem), and the Startup Showcase. Having reached out to people in cities such as Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Hyderabad and Coimbatore to name a few, through its Outreach and Social Responsibility activities, Festember’s presence and ubiety is well supplemented by its media partners like The Times of India, Vh1, Digital Signage Network (DSN) and The Hindu among many others.
