Putting on shapewear can be a challenging yet rewarding experience. Your shapewear may appear smaller at first glance, but it is made with high-quality materials that allow for great stretch and resistance to shape your body. If you can find the perfect size with proper measurements, your shapewear will fit well and comfortably around your body. To get the most out of your shapewear, it is important to prepare beforehand. In this blog, you’ll learn how to wear shapewear with a front hook effortlessly.
Steps to Follow Before Wearing Shapewear With a Front Hook
- Remove all hand jewellery to avoid damaging the product with accessories or nails.
- Make sure the hook and eye closures are completely opened.
- Avoid wearing moisturiser or lotion, and ensure the skin is dry to avoid friction.
Now, you are all set and are one step away from getting the desired silhouette.
How to Wear Shapewear with a Front Hook?
It is quite normal to feel pressure when closing the hooks or find it difficult to adjust them to your thighs or hips. If you have measured it right, then it’s not the wrong size; it’s just normal!
Steps to Wear Shapewear with a Front Hook Properly
- Start in a sitting position, either on a bed, couch, or chair (preferably).
- Place one leg in first, then the other leg, and pull the shapewear slowly.
- Find the seams and boning and adjust until comfortable.
- Close the bottom 2–3 rows of the hook and move to the top.
- Use your fingertips to pull the shapewear until it is in place.
- For a full-body shaper, slide your arms through the straps and adjust them over your shoulders for more compression.
- Take the time you need to push the skin under the shapewear.
- Finish by closing the hooks from the bottom up.
- Ensure the fit is snug and comfortable.
Secure the Top and Bottom Hooks
Alternatively, you can close the top hook first and then the bottom one. Once you get the grip, you can easily secure the hooks in between from either bottom to top or vice versa.
Secure the Second Hook First
You can also hook the second row from the top so that the shapewear doesn’t clinch away and stays in place. You can then secure the other hooks and finally the first one.
Note: You can either go from top to bottom or vice versa. Never hook the middle one first or unhook it last because there can be too much pressure on it, which may cause it to pop out.
Just like hooking your bra to the loosest setting, we recommend you start with the first row of hooks (the loosest setting). Once you are comfortable with it, you can move to the second row. Switch to the third row for the maximum level of compression.
How to Unhook Your Shapewear?
Start at the top and move towards the bottom, or the other way around.
Shapewear plays a major role in making yourself look instantly thinner, leaner, and curvier. Even if you don’t have a small waist or thighs naturally, you can wear shapewear to enhance your look because it is designed to sculpt the body, showcasing your best self. Some people often struggle when estimating their size correctly, even though it seems simple at first glance. Trying one or two sizes will help you get the right fit.
Wear it correctly and feel comfortable and confident all day long!
