How do I wash bras?

As a general rule, you must wash your bras after 2 to 3 uses. This may sound good for your bras, but not for your self-hygiene. Wash properly after every single use. We recommended handwashing in a gentle way. Follow the steps below.

  • In a bucket or sink full of cold water, pour some mild laundry detergent. It can either be liquid detergent or a powder. Make sure it is entirely dissolved in water. Do not use harsh chemicals; they can damage the fabric.
  • Now soak your lingerie for a few minutes, then take it in your hand and use a washcloth to remove any visible stains—dab and rub to clean thoroughly.
  • Rinse your lingerie thoroughly with no apparent foam.
  • Gently press (without damaging the shape) to remove excess water.

Note: If the bra has removable padding, take it out before washing it.

How do I dry my bras?

After removing the excess water, choose any one of the following methods to dry your lingerie:

Method 1

The best way to dry bras is by air drying. Put your bras flat on a dry towel; this will remove the moisture content easily. This method will promote and distribute the weight of the bra and prevent damage.

Method 2

Spread the centre gore of the bra and hand them out equally. This method ensures the elasticity is saved correctly. Do not hang them at high temperatures; dedicate a cold or warm place for them.

NOTE: Never use dryers; this may damage the fabric and the padding.

How to Extend the Life of Your Bras

Give your lingerie a break to retain its elasticity and shape. This means avoiding the same bras frequently can work some magic. We know that everyone has a favourite go-to bra that is so comfortable. There are chances that your bra can lose its elasticity and support if you use it again and again.

What is the life span of a bra?

Lingerie has a lifespan. A high-quality bra can support, comfort, and stay in shape without losing elasticity for about 6 to 9 months. Women’s bodies undergo a lot of changes; measure yourself correctly and replace old bras every 6 to 8 months or whenever you feel uncomfortable.

Bottom Line

Taking proper care of your lingerie can increase its lifespan. Remember, your lingerie has no rule that it must last a lifetime. It is healthy to replace your bras whenever your body demands it. Additionally, all you need is support and comfort.
